Domestic CCTV installation in Norwich and Norfolk

Anglia CCTV Solutions designs and fits CCTV for homes in Norwich, Long Stratton, Great Yarmouth and across Norfolk.

We start with your property. We look at where cameras should go, talk through how the footage is stored, and agree a system that suits your home. Then we fit it with the cables kept neat and out of the way.

A home system can be a single camera covering the front door or a set of cameras around the house, garden and drive. Tell us what you want to protect and we will price it.

Planning a home CCTV system

A few decisions shape a home system. We talk each of them through with you before we fit anything.

Where the cameras go

The usual starting points are the front door and the back door, then any ground-floor windows and the drive or garden where you park or keep tools and bikes. A camera placed high is harder to reach, and a clear view of a person at the door is worth more than a wide view of the whole street.

We look at your property and agree the positions with you.

Day and night

A camera is only useful if its picture is usable after dark as well as by day. Cameras use infrared or built-in lighting to keep recording in low light, and the result depends on the camera and where it points. We check the picture after fitting.

Recording and storage

Footage is kept on a recorder, on the cameras or online. How much you can keep depends on the number of cameras, the picture quality and the storage you have. Tell us how far back you want to be able to look and we will advise on a setup to suit.

Cables and power

Every camera needs power and a way to send its picture to the recorder or your phone. We keep cables tidy and conceal them where we can, and we talk through the route with you before we start.

Good to know before you install

Some practical points that are worth settling at the start.

Your neighbours and your privacy

Cameras that look only at your own property are generally treated differently under data protection law from cameras that also capture a neighbour's property or a public area. If a camera could see beyond your boundary, tell us and we will position it with that in mind. The Information Commissioner's Office publishes guidance for householders using CCTV.

Signs

A sign saying that cameras are in use is good practice at home, and can act as a deterrent. It also tells visitors they are being recorded.

Cameras and alarms do different jobs

Cameras show what happened. A burglar alarm sounds when something is happening. You can fit either on its own, or both together, and add remote monitoring so you can look at your cameras from your phone.

Keeping it working

Look at the live view and a little recent footage now and then. If a camera stops working or the picture changes, tell us. We also repair and service existing systems.

If yours is not here, send us a message and we will come back to you.

Where do you fit home CCTV systems?

We are based in Norwich and fit systems in Norwich, Long Stratton and Great Yarmouth, and across Norfolk.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. With remote monitoring you can see your cameras live from your phone or tablet and get alerts when something is detected.

Can you fit an alarm as well as cameras?

Yes. We fit burglar and intruder alarms for homes, either with cameras or on their own.

How many cameras do I need?

It depends on the size of the property and what you want to cover. A common starting point is the front and back doors, with more added for the drive, the garden or particular windows. Tell us about your home and we will recommend a number.

Do I need broadband to view my cameras on my phone?

Viewing on a phone needs an internet connection at the property. Where a home or site has none, 4G cameras can be used.
